Towards a clean energy transition

Today, more than ever, we need to rethink the present, reflect on its complexity, and develop a more humane and innovative society to meet the greatest challenges of our time. One of these is undoubtedly the green transition, which can only be addressed in an interdisciplinary manner.

The framework within which the project operates is that of the New European Bauhaus within the broader context of the European Green Deal, and is based on the core themes of the Erasmus+ program, such as environmental sustainability, and inclusion and diversity. The project includes an intensive practical training program that brings together experts in the fields of science and technology, with the explicit goal of accelerating the acquisition of skills in the so-called green competencies.

The main objective is to strengthen knowledge of renewable energies and new tools to support the ecological transition and translate European policies into local contexts.

In particular, the project aims to achieve the following specific objectives:

1. to implement knowledge to support the ecological transition and the circular economy among partners to achieve more inclusive and sustainable cities;
2. to share innovative and effective alternatives for access to self-produced renewable energy and for the use and domestic consumption of energy;
3. to promote active citizenship by encouraging dialogue with local institutions.

The main outputs are as follows:

• 1 promotional campaign for the courses held;
• 1 promotional campaign for the workshops held;
• 3 courses on "Energy Democracy: how citizens can become energy-independent", "Principles of Renewable Energy Communities", "Principles of Sustainable Energy Management" developed and delivered;
• 3 national workshops "Local Involvement in the Green Transition" conducted;
• 3 mini-videos on the themes of the 3 transnational events produced and disseminated online;
• 1 promotional campaign for the results of the project realized.

The results the project aspires to achieve are:

• greater awareness of energy saving and self-production of clean energy;
• an increase in dialogue between citizens and institutions; a contribution to the local implementation of European policies on energy efficiency and saving;
• 27 workers/technicians trained on innovative and effective alternatives for accessing self-production of renewable energy;
• 30 residents of the municipalities concerned with fewer opportunities involved in the workshops;
• 3 local associations involved in the workshops.
